Invitation Crisis

My mom's friend is doing the calligraphy on our invitations. She does beautiful work. I called her last month to see when she wanted me to drop them off and she tells me that she had just had surgery. I told her that she didnt have to do the invitations because she was still recovering but she INSISTED on doing them. She said she could get them done in a week and a half. I dropped them off on July 18th. I called her last week to see what the deal was and she says she only has about 100 outter done and NO inner done. She says that she would have them done by Friday Aug. 4th. So she called me on Aug. 4th to tell me that she STILL dosent have them done and she wold have them ALL done by the end of this weekend. My mom went yesterday to pick up what she has done so that we could start stuffing them. I am away this weekend and I called my mom to see if everything went okay with picking them up. My mom tells me that the woman won't get them done until MONDAY OR TUESDAY!!!! I was like 'WHAT?!?!?!?!'...I was supposed to mail them the first week in August and the RSVP date is September 1st!!! I am freaking out!! What if she tells me she needs MORE time??

The good thing is that she isnt charging us for them because she took so long AND I understand that she was recovering from her surgery. But, IMO, she should have told me that she couldnt do them. I don't know. I am just frustrated

Sorry so long

I had the same problem. I was only able to send my invites out this past week, and my RSVP date is August 29th, I was stressing BIG TIME over this.

At least someone understands. My mom keeps trying to defend the woman because it is her friend.
