invites are stressing me out more than anything else so far. Prob b/c I do not have a creative bone in my body and see things very black adn white. So FH's sister is an amazing graphic designer and has offered to do all of our invitation, menus, programs designs for us. OK great wonderful. Will love to have her do them.
now my dilema is:
1) how do I get them printed once she designs them?? Do I go to teh invitation store and give them teh disk adn pick out all the papers I want?
2) do I order online? and if yes, how do I know what size papers to order and where do I them get them printed?? If I bring 8X10 cardstock to a place to have them printed, will they cut them to the approrpiate size? how do I know what hte appropriate size is??
HELP!!!
i'm such a dummy with this stuff!!! panic attack setting in!! it was smooth planning to here!!!

Re: Invitation Hell
OMG I'm having the same issue right now. I'm a graphic designer and thought I'd do my own stuff but the printing is what's getting me too. I almost feel like it won't be much less $$$ to do myself after time spent and researching papers etc.
So I'm just gonna go to an Invite place, see what designs they have and ask them what the diff in $$$ will be if I bring them my own design and they use that. They already have vendors they get their paper from and all...
I figure they can do the invites because the card stock has to be specific, but for the menus and programs, I'll use a more reg. card stock and print them myself at a friends print shop in Brooklyn.

Re: Invitation Hell
my friend who is a graphic designer did ours. We bought a invite kit at Michales and she made the design fit the invite size that was given in there. If you buy the invite kit everything will be precut for you, so it is less that you have to worry about. You will need to do this for response cards as well. We went to kinkos and they said they would print them out for us. Just a heads up most stores like staples and office max refuse to do wedding invites. My friend explained to me that the file has to be a special file, cause PDF files can come out fuzzy for stuff like this. Your best bet is to have her come with you when they print out the file to see if it is to her liking. Good luck if you need any other help or advise in this area feel free to ask me.

Re: Invitation Hell
I'm having mine printed by cardsandpockets.com. They've sent samples and the quality (and paper) is excellent).
