Invitation Help
Ok... maybe I am just a dummy. I'll admit that.... I don't know. But I never knew invitations could be so complicated.
I bought a package of do it yourself wedding invitations. It came with 50 large invitation envelopes... 50 invitations... 50 response cards.... and 50 smaller envelopes (for the response cards).
Now the way i envisioned this... I would print my invitation... 'family is asking for your presense for the marriage of... bla bla bla'. That goes on the main invitation. I was also thinking about printing on the bottom 'reception to follow' or something along those lines on the main invitation to identify to people that we are having a reception after the church.
Then on the response cards... I was gonna put 'we ask for your response by... _____ ' '____ will/willnot attend'. No big deal with that either.
I was also going to get direction inserts from my reception hall... and inserts from my church to place in there as well so people will know how to get there.
Shouldn't all this be adequate for nice invitations?
My FW totally disagrees with this. First she said... no you need another 50 do it yourself inserts to place in there that contain 'reception hall invites'. She said you have to invite people to the church *and* invite them to the reception.
After much disagreement with her on why this is necessary... i finally said fine we will order 50 more response cards. I figured putting at the bottom of the main invitation 'formal reception to follow' would be enough.
Then today I email her asking if she finalized the wording she wanted on the invitation so I could start printing them. She asks me 'If i got wording from the swan club because we may have to change the package we bought if we can't find cards to match'.
What does particular wording from the swan club have to do with anything? I am totally lost with this. I asked her if we get actual swan club invitations from the swan club to put in there and she said no thats not what we do.
Sorry for rambling on this. I've booked a reception hall, DJ, photographer, limo... yet I didn't think it would be as complex as 'invitations'.![]()
