Invitation Help

Invitation Help

Morning!

This weekend were going to start to look at invitations and I realized I'm clueless on two things:

Who do you have the return cards sent to? One of the parents house or the couple (we live together)?

I know you're supposed to number the invitations. How does that work?

Thank You!

Re: Invitation Help

Both questions have to do with response cards.

I went against etiquette and had them sent to me, I live with FH as well. It was nice because we could track them on our excel spreadsheet and know easily that we're missing 49 responses (and our response date was Friday).

As for the numbering, it's a good idea to put a small number on the back of the response card that corresponds with a guest. It helps if the guest forgets to put their name on the response, writes illegibly, or has the same name as another guest. It also helps if the person who didn't compile the list is inputting the responses and doesn't recognize their cousins married last name (yes, that happened).

Re: Invitation Help

traditionally they are suppose to go to the bride's parents since traiditionally they pay for the wedding. we went against this as well and had them sent to us (since we paid for most of it anyway). i'd say whoever you are comfortable with sending it.

I didn't number my cards I just left a space for ppl to put write their name in kind of like this.

M________________
will_______attend
number of guests___________

If you don't want this you can number each card and them keep a list of who got what number that way when you get them back you know who sent it back.

Never heard about the numbering before, but that is good info!
