Invitation Help Please!

1) How many months prior should you start looking for invitations?

2) How long (approximately) do they take to order?

3) Is 2 months the average time invitations should be mailed out before the wedding?

4) Is anyone having a B-list? Don't they realize they are on the b-list if they only get 3 or 4 weeks to RSVP?

1) It's NEVER too early - I would honestly say at least 4 months in advance, if not sooner. If you're having custom made invitations, at least 6 months in advance.

2) Every company is different as far as ordering time - most of them are usually 6-8 weeks.

3) 2 months is just right for mailing them out, especially if your RSVP date is one month before.

4) You can have two RSVP dates made if you're worried about the B-list. However, I'm not having a B-list, so I'm not worried. You can also start mailing out the B-list as your no's come in to avoid having two diff. RSVP dates.

I am only 1 week before you:
1&2) I started looking now for invites. I am requesting alot of samples (from different companies in different colors,etc) , so I figure I would give myself time. I plan to order by the end of January (the place I plan to get them from said they take 4-8 weeks to produce - so I want to be safe). If you are going to send them out to get calligraphy, you should order early so you have time for that.

3) I plan to send mine out 9 or 10 weeks before my wedding (with an RSVP date about 5 weeks before the wedding) - we are the weekend after 4th of July (very popular vacation weekend) so I thought I should give a little extra time.

4) I have no idea how this works - I wanted to do it, but the people on my B list are close to people on my A list - so it wouldn't work out
