i sent out my invites on monday- a handful of people received them, however they received them open.
yes girls they are not staying shut in the mail!
so now i have to worry about reply's falling out, along with whole sets not being delivered... i feel like an ***- but now i have to call every single person to make sure they received them safely..
my first true nightmare!

Breathe in, breathe out. breathe in, breathe out!!!
I wouldn't worry about calling people until the RSVP deadline approaches and you have not heard from them.
I know it's an inconvenience, but it will all be OK.

I'm so sorry there's some trouble!
Do you have double envelopes? If so, even if the outer envelope is open, it should be fine because the inner envelope should be staggered so it takes effort to pull it out.
Try not to worry -- things will work out!!

we actually used a wax seal on the back. It was a nuisance to get the wax to drip properly but they did look pretty. BUT we also had to be careful not to make them too thick otherwise they would not go through the post office test slide and we would have had to pay more postage. but we were thrifty with the drippings and passed the PO test and it worked out ok.

Re: invitation horror
The place I got my invitations told me to glue stick them closed. Besides ensuring they will stay closed, apparently it looks less 'bumpy' then licking them or using a sponge

That's exactly what I did -- glue stick.
