Re: INVITATION INSANITY HELP PLEASE
We spent under $400 on our invites for 100 invites, and that included a color lining, response cards, and the response envelopes with our address pre-printed, and color ink. It has a ribbon on the top, but we have to assemble them ourselves and put the ribbon on.
We are not spending the extra money on calligraphy. We are going to print on clear labels, and find a nice wedding font and save the money.

Re: INVITATION INSANITY HELP PLEASE
less than 400 for 100. thats a pocket fold with invite, 3 inserts and a bellyband. I designed them myself and am having them printed on paper i am buying. I am printing on the envelopes myself and stamping a return address on them.

Re: INVITATION INSANITY HELP PLEASE
For 150 invites with tax, it came to $952.04 (Invites, fully lined envelopes and RSVP cards with envelopes) We also had digital calligraphy (so far for 114 invites) and that was $185.96.
We used Long Island Wedding and Event Planners Boutique, Bridget was really nice and worked with us a ton, we had to completely change the invitation, because the first one was layered and didn't work out like we had wanted. She also gave me a discount on the calligraphy - $1.50 an envelope instead of $1.75.
This was the basic invite we went with: Invitations
We used Raisin ink for the flower, our names, and the RH name and Smoke for the rest that was in a print (not script) font. We went with the regular straight across envelopes, fully lined with matte purple (Current I think) paper. And we customized the RSVP card with a coordinating flower and raisin ink. All was printed on cream colored heavy card stock.

You sound like me - I still haven't ordered anything yet cause I don't want to spend so much money on them. I have been doing some research. I found a good site & i Actually ordered a sample from them. the invite i found that i love is a 5x7 pocket-fold & it's just very plain & simple but elegant. don't make yourself too crazy! FM me if you want the site.
