Invitation inserts-directions and hotel info:

Did you use the direction and hotel cards provided by the reception hall and hotels or did you type it up on one sheet. Did you put it on stationary matching the invitation? Did you put it on one paper or two? How did you word the hotel information...did you put prices?

GIRLS-Please tell me how you worded the hotel info. See post below.

THANKS!

Re: Invitation inserts-directions and hotel info:

Since we are getting married in a church I needed directions to the church and then directions from the church to the reception. Atlantica provides beautiful direction cards on vellum paper and I would have used this if I didn't need church directions too.

What I wound up doing was getting vellum paper and prinitng both sets of directions on one sheet.

As for you with hotel info, did you send a save the date with price info? I don't think its appropriate to put prices on a direction card. I think you should either put directions to the hotel and reception on one sheet or just directions to the reception hall - most people can figure out how to get to their hotel when they make reservations. As for using what they gave you, it depends on if you like them - I don't care for very flimsy cards but thats JMO.

Re: Invitation inserts-directions and hotel info:

I'm working on this right now!

I'm using inserts provided by our hall and hotel. But I'm also creating map cards myself with directions from the church to our reception site. I'm also going to add directions to the church on there as well for the ceremony.

The stationary for the map card doesn't match exactly, but good enough for me - same colored paper So I will have two inserts for local guests and three inserts for OOT guests

Our hotel printed up cards with our names & rsvp info for us (no pricing, just contact info), but considering typing up a label & pasting it on the back with the discount airline & rental car info.

Re: Invitation inserts-directions and hotel info:

We had our invitation company make small cards with accommodation info on one side and directions on the other. I didn't like the Harrison House direction cards b/c they didn't match my invites (I had handmade paper), and they had a bit of a 'sell' to them.

Edited to add: I didn't put price info, here's what I wrote for the hotel info:

Accommodations are available at

The Harrison House
516-671-6400
The bride and groom, wedding party and several guests will be staying at the Harrison House for the weekend. Rooms have been blocked through June 28th.

Howard Johnson
(516) 333-9700
This hotel is about a half an hour from our ceremony/reception location. Rooms have been blocked through July 1st.

When making a reservation at either location please inform them that you are attending the Holland/McNally wedding for a special rate.

There are many other accommodations available in the area. The bride and groom have designed a website at www.weddingchannel.com with more information.

Thanks girls! Can you also help me out with the wording...
I want to say something like:
Accomodations have been reserved at a special rate at...

or something to that effect so they know that they will be getting a cheaper price and will be sure to mention our wedding when they book...

can you girls tell me how you worded your hotel info?

THANKS!

Re: Invitation inserts-directions and hotel info:

We just finished doing our lastnight. We bought standard 8 1/2 X 11 resume papaer (we figured it was a better quality and the color complimented our invitations). Then we went on to the website of our reception venue and copied their map and directions on to one side and one colum of the paper. We did the same on the other side, so once everything was printed, we cut the paper right down the middle and we folded the map over.
We also had to include hotel accomodations, so we printed that info. on the inner part of the paper.
