Re: invitation liners
can i ask why? i know they are pretty, especially if there is a color to match the invitation with, but the invite that i think i will use has no color and i want to use black ink and the pearl color doesn't look so good with it and i am confused!!!!!!!!

well personally, my invite is plain white (almost like a thick vellum) and when you pull it through i just liked the way it looks on top of the liner (which was black)
if you don't think it's necessary, i would save your money imo

I think liners are more for looks and preference- I don't think you actually need them.

Re: invitation liners
i didn't have them and i had some nice, engraved invitations. i likes the heavy paper without it. i also did not have an inner envelope.

I happen to like the way they look but Fh's cousin is getting married in June and they didnt use the liner. The invite still looks great!

Re: invitation liners
you don't NEED anything (except maybe the man to marry ;) )
Alot of things are just for show, or for looks...or just the way a lot of other people do it. But there's no rule that says you have to do anything!
I prefer a lined envelope because it looks special, and IMO a wedding is special and calls for a 'little more'
