Does this sound okay? My parents are paying for part of the wedding. His steppfather is paying for a part of the wedding. His mother is deceased. He wants his mother on the invitatation and his biological dad. HIs stepfather would get offended if his name is not included because he is paying for part of the wedding. This is what I came up with. Let me know what you guys think.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell XXXXX requests the honour of your presence at the marriage of their daughter Christina Anne to Jason Eric son of Mr. Ronald XXXX, Mr. Michael XXXX(stepdad) and the late Gloria XXXX.

Re: Invitation opinion?
i think you have to put 'the late...' IMO. I think it sounds fine- maybe a little wordy but I would rather have that and make sure everyone is included- JMO

Re: Invitation opinion?
I wasn't going to put stepdad, i just wanted you guys to know that he was the stepdad. I don't know, may I should gut write together with families at the top and not write anyone's name.

Re: Invitation opinion?
I think its sweet that he wants to mention his mom but I don't think the invitation is the place. He should honor his mother with a donation as the favor or during the ceremony and not on the invitation. The invitation is to mention who is throwing the wedding.

I think this is perfect.
FI's mom is deceased (his dad remarried) and we plan to put her name on the invite. My parents are divorced but I want their names on the invite. FI & I are paying for the wedding on our own but we still want our parents names included.
Ours will read like this (maybe )
kdrainey daughter of Mr. XXX and Miss YYY and FI son of Mr. AAA and the late Mrs. AAA request the honour of your presence blah blah blah

Re: Invitation opinion?
How about
Mr. and Mrs. Russell XXXXX and Mr. Michael XXXX request the honour of your presence at the marriage of Christina Anne to Jason Eric, son of Mr. Ronald and Gloria XXXX
I think some people think whoever is requesting their presence is paying. So, if you just have your parents' names at the top, the stepdad might feel like people won't know he's paying? Just an idea.

I like the above and would do:
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Smith request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their daughter Christina Anne to Jason Eric son of the late Mr. Ronald Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Clarke
