I just went on my lunchhour to get the ball rolling on invitations. I had gone to iParty this weekend (just like Party City) and got an idea of what was out there as far as pricing.
So I get to the place at lunch & sit down with the books & it's all Crane papers & William Arthur & Vera Wang. Um, do you guys KNOW how much more this costs than like a Carlson Craft or something? I almost DIED. I fell in love with a Vera Wang invitation that was $1269 for 100 (I need 125 at least) + reply cards + reception cards + lined enevelope + monogram + printed seals. The final tab will be over $2300.
Did anyone out there spend this much or have I COMPLETELY lost my mind for even considering it? FH will laugh in my face so I just want to know if this is normal.

Re: Invitation Pricing.... Vera Wang
my dress, veil and shoes cost less than that!...haha...but everyone budgets more on things that are important to them...for me it was photography..it's really a personal choice but you may find something similar that cost less?

The invites will cost more then 175 packs of diapers. . If you need them go for it but it does seem a bit excessive JMHO

Re: Invitation Pricing.... Vera Wang
i would NEVER spend that much for invitations, just my opinion and i feel i have a pretty lenient budget.... lots of areas to splurge on but invitations! -no a little too high...eventually they end up in the garbage anyway..

$361 for 150 including all enclosures and shipping. I can't even imagine spending over $1000 for invites.

Re: Invitation Pricing.... Vera Wang
You know, I have had it with the prices that some companies charge for wedding related stuff. Just a few months ago, I was looking at some of Vera's china and could not believe the prices!!! And her shoes are absolutely ridiculous. I mean, I know she's Vera and all, and her stuff is great, but come on!!! Vera better hope I don't run into her in a dark alley in NYC one night cos I might give near a piece of my mind! Jim Hjelm is another one I have issues with but I don't think he's the most expensive out there! ARGH!!!!
Okay, sorry, off my soap box. If you love her invitations and cannot find anything else that compares and you treasure invites then you should splurge and get them. If not, shop around and splurge on other things - preferably booze - everyone appreciates the booze!!!!

Re: Invitation Pricing.... Vera Wang
I think that price is pretty high, but you get what you pay for I suppose.
I personally wouldn't spend that much on invitaitons..........I'm sure they are beautiful, and first impressions to a lot of people is important, but just not sure if it's important enough to spend that much on them.
Is there anyway you can post a picture of the ones you love and maybe we can help you find something silmilar for a cheaper price?
