I am getting ready to have the addresses done in caligraphy. What is everyone doing who are inviting people with a guest but they are not married - are you writing Ms. So-and-So and Guest or are you writing out the guest's name? I am concerned that if I write out the guest's name who knows if they will still be dating by the time I send out the invitations (my wedding is in 5 months). Also, my invitation did not come with an inner envelope, is this necessary? Also, the place where I ordered it said it was ok to just address the return envelope with my name on it, is that normal? It's too late anyway because I already received them

Re: Invitation Question
i would say address the envelope with 'and guest' if it's not a serious relationship that they're in when you get the envelopes done. but make sure you write and guest so they know they're allowed to bring someone!
as for the inner envelope - not necessary, it's a personal choice.

I would agree with palebride's recommendation.

Re: Invitation Question
I agree with the above.
And its normal to only have the brides address for the return address. I think its from when the brides family hosted the wedding!

Re: Invitation Question
I agree - I'm doing the same thing, putting 'and guest' for the sorta new, not so serious relationships.

Re: Invitation Question
also, my return envelopes have my name on it, that's the way to do it if you are hosting it.

Re: Invitation Question
If someone had a significant other, the invite was addressed to just them, and the inner had both their first names...if someone was old enough to have a guest, same thing, but the inner said Jane and Guest.
