I think I have found my invites but have a question, do you think you have to order the lined inner envelopes? It is one of the options. I noticed in the last year or two a lot of invites I have gotten do not include an inner envelope. Is it still customary and necessary?Do you think it would look weird without an inner envelope? I am planning on having wraps and ribbon around the invites so I'm thinking I could do without the outer envelopes. Any thoughts?

Re: invitation question
I don't know if there are any benefits to having the inner envelopes, other than tradition.... We didn't have inner envelopes. The lady where we ordered said it was absolutely fine to do without them. It saved us a little money, but it was a little trickier (for me anyway!) to address, since all the names had to go on the outer envelopes.

Re: invitation question
i'm making our invitations and will be doing without the inner envelopes and i'm thinking that the biggest issue will be how to address the outer envelope. personally, i think the inner envelope is such a waste.

Re: invitation question
i liked having the inner envelope for addressing issues. that wasy you can make the outside more formal and the inside less formal. i also like when i get an invitation to have something to stoe all of the information in instead of the out envelope....i like the thickness of the inner envelope i guess. and i liked that it was lined. i guess i must be a traditionalist!! i think i might think about this too much also......

I guess I did too
But a lined inner envelope is certainly not necessary
