Invitation question....

I know I've seen threads about this before..... In what order do you put everything inside the inviation?

I have an outter envelope, the invite, RSVP card and envelope, and a hotel/directions insert card....

I'm thinking, when you open the envelope, the first thing that should be seen is the invite, with the other stuff behind it..... Is that right? Or should the RSVP and insert be sitting infront of the invite?

I dont know if Im 100% right about this but I think the invitation itself if the first thing you see with the directions and response card behind it.
But honestly...will your family really know the difference? I dont think you can go wrong with the way you do it unless you forget to put the invitation in the envelope =)

Invitation at the back with everything else in front of it in size order (smallest in the front, largest closest to the invitation).

This goes into the inner envelope. The inner envelope is place unsealed into the outer envelope with the flap of the inner envelope facing the opposite direction to the flap of the outer envelope -- so that when the guest pulls the inner envelope out of the outer envelope, the guest's name (and not the flap) faces the guest.

Nope, that's backwards. (Though I agree most people aren't paying attention, having the largest part at the back and the smallest in the front works to prevent things from getting accidentally left behind in the envelope)

I thought the same thing, the first thing you should see is the invitation , but that is not what the 'tip card for invitation' said that came with my invites. The invitation was on the bottom and everything was piled on top. I guess so you can pull everything out at the same time when you pull it out of the inner envelope.

Do it whatever way you like best, but in the end, no one even realizes the order when they get the invites. They always go right to the invitation

Im pretty sure we have the invitation instructions in our box of envelopes & invites...Im just too lazy to look.
