Invitation question...

Invitation question...

Can any of you gals give me an idea as to how much wedding invitations are? Have any of you made your own? If so, did it save you a lot? Was it a lot of work? Do you have pics of the finished result?
Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

TIA :)

We made our own; it was $25 for a box of 50 I believe. It was very easy to do also.

I've priced a Carlson Craft card online (150 invites with the whole shebang included) at ~$300 - $400 depending on the internet vendor and shipping charges

We got ours through Costco

They were Checkerboard invitations and we saved several hundred dollars by going through Costco. The difference b/w getting them there or at a store was the options for envelope liners (which wasn't important to me).

They have lots of desings and options available. Definitely worth a look!

I got mine for $250 through an ebay vendor. That included 150 invites, 150 reception cards, 150 response cards, 150 regular envelopes and 150 response envelopes. This was way cheaper than anything else I priced out.

Invitations *can* range in price from around $300 - $400 for the low end all the way up to a few thousand dollars for something custom with multiple layers of paper, ribbons, rhinestones, bows, etc. ... it all depends on the type you are looking for.

There are price ranges for almost everything in wedding planning ... for example, wedding dresses! You can spend $99 at a Davids Bridal Sale or you can spend $5k + for a Kenneth Pool, Vera Wang, etc.

I am so torn. Everything I like, which is very simple, are over $500 and thats just way too much. I was thinking of buying the pieces from Cards and Pockets and having a friend do them in Photoshop, but I'm not sure.

Average, invites are in the $100-300 range, but can get unbelievably pricey. I saw one that I liked that was over $1200

And don't forget the postage too!
