my rsvp date is May 1 for my wedding on May 31st.

my wedding is 8/9 and my rsvp is going to be july 1st.. there isnt a big gap but i felt like if i make it the end of june people will think its too early.. (it looks like 2 months) that is why i made it july 1st.

but if you have a B list you might want to do it alittle earlier

It's okay - I would prefer a little earlier - like July 25th or something...
Most ppl wont even respond on time, so at least it gives you time..ya know

for my 6/28 wedding, i gave them till 6/6. maybe not as much time as most people give but i didnt htink it was an necessary for me. i gave myself a week to call any people who didnt rsvp and one week to handle the seating chart and placecards.
