I mean if you know they aren't you can just put a guest for proper ediquate IF you are inviting others without bf or gf with a date. I just did it universal. I decided everyone gets a date so even if I know they won't bring I am still giving them the option

no i dont mind at all if they did but i know a few people who r not they told me lol but fh says to still put n guest and i say why i could invite more people then cause those 10 n guests that will go to waste could go to someone else..does that make sense

I agree with your thought process...for me it's children. FMIL's extended family 'has' to be invited with their children, to the point where my own father took his cousins off the list because he wants to keep the number down so we don't go broke. It really bothers me, it's like those invite spaces should be going to adults who really belong there, not 3rd cousins twice removed.

I'm not inviting a friend of mine that doesn't have a significant other with a guest...we need the slots. Maybe you can come up with a compromise of who gets a guest and who doesn't, so you can invite more people that you want there?

I only added 'and guest' if i knew they were in some sort of relationship... But thats just me.. i have some people who i don't want to even THINK who they would bring... HTH
