When using pocketfolds, do you HAVE to use a panel card behind the formal invite?

Re: invitation question
Also, what should the dimensions be of the actual invitation? I may have to trim the formal invite down to size, and I want to know what length and height to cut the paper down to. . .so long as I don't cut out most of the design on the top and bottom. . .
EDIT: The pocketfold is a 5' x 7' horizontal opening--cardsandpockets.com calls it Signature.

Re: invitation question
I figured out the dimensions of the formal invitation card using cardsandpockets.com's dimensions for the final card. I have to cut 1/2 inch off of each side, top and bottom (since it's supposed to be 4 1/2' x 6 1/2'). I broke down and ordered invitation mats in silver (we're using Tiffany blue pocketfolds), since our colors are light blue and silver (the light blue was TOO light and not metallic enough, so we decided to go a little bit off of our color scheme for the pocketfolds).
Will hopefully be able to show you what it looks like next week, once I get the invitation mats!!!
