Is anyone else doing something different besides hiring a calligrapher to write the guest addresses?????

Re: Invitation Question
I am having a smallish low-key wedding, but have absolutely no plan to hire a calligrapher. I am either writing them, or printing out clear labels (which my co-worker did, and it did not cause me to give him a less pricey gift ;) ). Honestly, my friends will not be judging on things like calligraphy addresses- but they also know that that is so not my style!

Re: Invitation Question
Thank you so much. I didn't even think of testing that out to see how it would look....Trying to cut corners...I will buy some clear labels and test it tonight. Thanks again!

Re: Invitation Question
I'll probably hand do them myself. It might not be perfect calligraphy, but it will look nice!

Re: Invitation Question
I just got an invitation to a wedding lastnight & they used calligraphy for the addresses.
LOVED IT!!!
About how much does that cost?

Re: Invitation Question
I am going to attempt to print them on my home computer and if that doesn't work, I may use InkSpun.com

Re: Invitation Question
Our stationer is printing them for us. I always hated the idea of envelopes done on a printer but when she showed me a sample I was sold. They look gorgeous! We're using steel grey envelopes and the address has two fonts and an awesome layout. I seriously love them.

Re: Invitation Question
Either:
Mom is writing them
I'm writing them... sigh...
Or we're printing them.

I have really nice handwriting, so I wrote them all out myself.

We printed directly on the envelopes

Re: Invitation Question
I did my own computer calligraphy. It came out perfect! I was even able to match very closely the invitation font.
I couldn't see paying someone to do it for me when I could do it myself. I printed directly on the envelopes (just like the invitation place or inkspun would have done).

Re: Invitation Question
If you have nice cursive, just buy a calligraphy marker (I bought mine at Office Depot) and try it out. You should be fine and seriously if your friends and family are judging about the printing on the invites well then they should go milk a cow...

Re: Invitation Question
I agree..did them all myself on my laser printer...looks like calligraphy. I can't rationalize paying so much money for someone to do it for me when we are in this computer age...
