Invitation question (POLL)

Invitation question (POLL)

Both sets of parents are hosting our wedding so they are all going on the invitation. My parents are divorced and my dad is remarried. We originally thought #1 was perfect, but now one fam member is saying it's not 'etiquette' and it should be #2.

What do you think?

#1
Ms. A Smith and Mr. B Smith
together with
Mr. and Mrs. C Jones

or

#2
Ms. A Smith
Mr. B Smith
Mr. and Mrs. C Jones

Since my parents are divorced they can't go on the same line? Also, in #2, we could put an 'and' on the 3rd line... so confused!!!!!!! Your opinions are appreciated, thanks!

Both sets of my parents are remarried, and my 4 all mainly hosted, but dh's parents helped too. so, here's what it looked like.

mr. and mrs. edmund h (my mom/step-dad)
mr. and mrs. william z (dad and step-mom)

request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their daughter

debra lynn z

to

kevin michael h.

son of

Ms. Mary I

Mr. David H

ETS. for yours, i would put

Mr. (your dad ad step-mom).
Ms. (your mom)
Mr. and Mrs. (fh's parents)

request the honor of your presence...

ask your printer though. mine helped me out a lot.

I looked at some sites and it looks like your parents can be on the same line to look something like this:

Mr. B Smith and Ms. A Smith
and
Mr. and Mrs. C Jones
request....

HTH!

We used...

Because you have shared in their lives
by your friendship and love, their parents
Mrs. Anne H and Mr. Ray T
and Mr. and Mrs. M
invite you to share
Cara
and
John
as they begin their new life together
on
Friday April 28
2006
at 5:00
Seaford, New York

All our parents helped here and there so we felt we wanted to put them all on and recognize them all. Yes, it is a lot of names but it made them all happy.

So you put your mom and & dad on the same line even though they were divorced right? I was hearing that was bad etiquette, but I like it that way.

We are doing:

Ms. Mother of the Bride and
Mr. and Mrs. Father and Step mother of the bride

request...blah blah

Julie
to
Shawn

son of Ms. Mother of the Groom and
Mr. and Mrs. Father and Step mother of the groom

you are supposed to put the 'and' on a separate line, but it seemed silly when it was all written out.

I am also stressing over this silly issue.

Did you say 'and' between the names or just list the names?

My parents are divorce and both are remarried, i am not putting my parents name on the invitations its to much wording and I don't want to insult either one or hear drama over it.

I just read something about this. It's ok to put both of your parents on the same line as long as they of course don't mind and I think you said you're dad is remarried so as long as your step mother doesn't mind either. I will try to find a link to where I saw this..I've been looking up lots of stuff like this myself

Re: Invitation question (POLL)

Thank goodness we don't have that problem.....because it would be really confusing for us....

His mom's friend and his mom are divorced and live together (they are not lesbians, just good friends and it is cheaper for them to live together than each have a place). The mother's friend is like a second mom to my FH, and we couldn't leave her out on the parent list. His father has remarried. So it would look like

Ms. ___ N__, and Ms. ___ G___
Mr. and Mrs. ___ N____
Mr. and Mrs. ____ H____

It would be insanity....the one time I'm actually glad that we paid for it ourselves!
