I think I need an outer envelope, invitation, inner envelope, response card and envelope. Am I missing anything? Reception is immediately following ceremony at same location, so I don't need the reception card. What's the difference between a lined inner envelope and a normal one? Also, if I need 71 invites, is ordering 100 enough? (I think they only go in 25s).
Thanks ladies!

Re: Invitation Questions
I have a lined inner envelope. It is an aesthetic thing and a great way for invite companies to charge more sometimes. Many companies (i.e. Carlson Craft) charge more for lining inner envelopes because they consider it a 'custom' job. I had the good fortune of not paying for my lined inners because of an error on their part. They originally told the salesperson where I ordered my invites that there was no lining available for my engraved invites. Then she was told by CC that there was in fact a lining available at a cost of about $80 more. Upon, my suggestion, she fought them on it, telling them that she was going to suggest to me NOT to use them in the future for things like programs and place cards. They threw in the liners for free AND NOW I have 175 extra UNLINED envelopes in addition to the 175 lined ones. I have an ecru engraved invitation and a gold liner. It is very pretty and to someone as picayune as me, it makes a big difference.

As I said on another post, if your ceremony is on site, I don't think you need a reception card. It can and will cost you more money. You can simply put 'Reception immediately to follow' on a bottom line either in the middle under a swishy line graphic or offset on the bottom left. Though they may charge you a nominal fee if your invites are engraved. We paid an extra $9 to have 'Black Tie' offset on the bottom left hand side.

Yeah, I'm just going to put that on the bottom of the actual invite.

Re: Invitation Questions
we're having our ceremony and reception at the same place too.
I'm having an invite, direction card, and possible hotel accomodation card..I'm not doing the inner envelope thing, I think it's a waste. my invites and the other two cards will be wrapped together and place in an envelope.
You don't need a reception card if you word the bottom of your invite 'reception immediately following' or 'dinner and dancing following ceremony' something like that.
I forgot, I'm having the response card too of course. My response card is going to be a postcard...Mike's cousin designs invitations and she's created mine.

Perhaps it's a dump question, but can you explain to me what 'black tie' means? Does it mean they have to wear tuxedo or ..? and how about if you have afternoon ceremony, can I write black tie on the bottom left hand side? TIA

Re: Invitation Questions
I'm doing inner & outer envelopes. I don't want there to be any mistake about who is invited. I also want lined inner envelopes because I think they are pretty and add a little something extra. My ceremony is in a completely different location, so I am doing separate reception cards instead of adding the info at the bottom. I found a great website to order everything from. princessweddinginvitations.com

Re: Invitation Questions
So is a lined inner envelope just a different color for the inside of the envelope? I'm confused by that. Also, are the outside envelopes usually included with the invites becuase I don't see that included on any of the pricing sheets I've seen.
