invitation questions....

I am trying to cut costs, can I put the reception information on my invitation even though the ceremony and reception are at different locations? I was thinking about separating the reception information using a motif in between the invitation info and the reception info.

Also, the inner envelopes, does the calligrapher write anything on those envelopes or just leaves them blank? I have no clue about this.

personally, i probably would not put the ceremony and reception info on the same invite...as far as the calligraphy...i am pretty certain there does not need to be anything on that inner envelope

You can put both the ceremony & reception info on the invite (if you do, just make sure you get a large enough invite). However, if they are at different places- most people do not.

How about to cut costs- do an invite and a separate reception card and NO inner envelope. These aren't necessary and might help with your budget....

I don't think it really matters, personally. I'm actually looking into doing the same thing cause the reception cards are as much as the invitations! It's whatever you wanna do, just make sure that if your going to put it all on there...the font is big enough for people to read

Wow, what kind of reception card are you getting that costs the same thing?!

We are getting married at our hall, so we just put 'reception immediately following' but it might look funny if you want to put 2 sets of addresses on there.

What exactly is the second envelope for? What goes in it? I don't think we are getting one...

We are just doing:

outer envelope
invitation
response card
response card envelope
direction card (really nice one supplied by our hall that matches our invites)

it might be better to cut costs by doing rsvp postcards -- i think its a cute idea, saves on postage and envelopes and won't affect the look of the invitation

Well it's definitely NOT worth the same price as the invites thats for darn sure! But I really like the invitations so we shall see.

Wish I was gettin married at the hall....would make invitations so much easier

are your invites really simple or are the reception cards really elaborate? is there a way you can customize them?

(ex: if they come with a border and decoration you could substitute plain cards for a lesser price)

we totally customed our invitations and you can pick any combo of what you want.

i guess you could say 'reception immediately following at Name of Hall' and put the info on the direction card (assuming you are having one) but I don't know if that would be confusing for your guests

Because i'm looking on line, it doesnt show the reception card so I'm actually not even sure what it would look like. I assume it wouldn't be all that elaborate but I'm not sure. I would get them cause they're not THAT expensive, but someone's paying for them as a gift and I feel guilty having them pay for the invites, the reception cards at the same price and the RSVPs.
