invitation questions

invitation questions

the next thing on our to do list are invitations. If the wedding is Nov 8 when would a good RSVP date be? Would end of Sept be too early?

Also, did you/are you planning on fudging the times on the invites for the ceremony and cocktail hour (by like 15 min earlier or so) for those who like to be fashionably late?
TIA

Re: invitation questions

Early September seems right. I lied about my ceremony time, but only by 15 minutes.
I am not a tardy person and I hope people will show me the same respect at my wedding. If not, they will just miss the whole thing

Re: invitation questions

September seems good. I'm mailing mine out 10 weeks before the wedding with RSVP date of 1 month before.
I also had the time printed 15 minutes before. FH's entire family is ALWAYS late and I know they would be late to this. I like to be early or at least on time but I don't want to be angry that they are holding up the wedding or coming in as I'm walking down the aisle.

Re: invitation questions

i originally was going to put 30 minutes earlier on the invite, just to be sure, but in the end put the exact time the ceremony starts. i'm hoping people realize they should be there before. i know i always try to get to a wedding 20-30 beforehand. so i'm hoping our guests are smart enough!

also, i put my rsvp date about 6 weeks before the wedding. i put it a little earlier than most. so if you do end of sept 30 or oct 1, something along those lines, you should be good!

Re: invitation questions

I'm getting married on November 2nd (Sunday), so I'll be mailing out the invitations 2 months before, on September 2nd (Tuesday after Labor Day & back to work for me). The RSVP date is October 1st. I ordered and received my invitations already, so I'll be able to address them all over the summer.

Yes by 30 minutes! Mine are not fashionably late, they are habitually late and never with any apologizes

Re: invitation questions

We sent ours out about 2 months before, so I'd say September should be fine.
