Invitation question...start time?
Do you put the exact start time for the ceremony? (Our ceremony is at the RH)...
Do you put the exact start time for the ceremony? (Our ceremony is at the RH)...
Depends. Is your venue going to provide refreshments? I know some brides have put their time 15-30 minutes before the ceremony time. If not, I would put something like reception 6:30 promptly.
First I ask your hall to see if they provide something. Or if you don't put an earlier time then I write promptly on the invite.
On my contract is says that the start time of the ceremony must be the same as what is written on the invitation. Does your contract say anything like that?
i'm putting the exact time and am getting married at RH as well. for as many people that won't be on time, there will prob be the same that will be on time and I don't want them sitting there waiting.
If you put the exact time put promptly at whatever. We put the exact time..and we know our family and some friends are always late...so we stressed to everyone get there on time!
I put 15 minuts earlier for church and hall. Hall even said they reccomend it. There is a hospitality room for early guests tho with wine and cheese.
I was at 2 weddings recently who BOTH had the invitation time a half hour before the actual start time. I totally get why they did it.. because guests were still straggling in even after the stated 'start time'.. but it was annoying for someone like me, who actually did get there on time, to sit around and wait for the ceremony to start. JMO!
We were told by the ceremony site and RH to put the start time 30 min. before you walk, because inevitably people run late and you don't want anyone running in during your big entrance.
Half an hour earlier than start time. People always run late.
we put 30 minutes earlier and it worked out perfectly. everyone was there and we were able to start on time
I'm not sure if my RH provides anything for early guests.. something I will find out in time. But I will likely put 30 mins earlier because people that I know are ALWAYS late and I will be pissed off if someone walks in late in the middle of my ceremony. For guests that do arrive on time they can probably walk the gardens of my RH or take some pix while they are waiting. 30 mins isn't a huge amount of time to wait plus with other guests walking in they can chat and mingle.
