Invitation Re-work!

Invitation Re-work!

Since I've been off from work (I'm a teacher in Jersey, my district still doesn't have power so they've cancelled school for three days in a row) I've been on planning duty like crazy. Yesterday I spent an hour and a half scrapping our old invitation idea (my FBIL is doing them for us, he's a graphic designer) which was very pretty but also very generic and creating a mock-up of the new idea. We are having the ceremony in a theater, appropos for us since we met doing theater and he proposed in a theater, so we decided to veer more towards that theme. I'm so proud of myself! What do you think?

Am I the only one that is confused??

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea..just not sure about why the Patchogue Center for the Performing Arts is at the bottom. Is that where the ceremony is? And then the reception is at the Watermill afterwards?

If so, I would add something above it the way you have cocktail reception on the right side. Just so it's more clear what's going on.

I really like it, just trying to help out. HTH

Cuuuuuuute!!! Love the theme!

(But I do agree with 2012_Bride that a little clarification might be necessary about the ceremony. It took me a few moments to figure it out.)

She said that she is having her ceremony in a theater.

It's a very cute invite.

I just think that if it's not stated that the theater is the ceremoney site, some people may be confused. I agree that it's very cute!

That is true! People do confuse STD's with invites.

My sister said the same thing...and thanks you for you saying it! What about if I add 'Wedding Ceremony at 3:00pm' over the theater info?

Re: Invitation Re-work!

You're welcome! You already say on the invite 3:00, so you may just want to add something like 'Ceremony to take place at' above the location. Just an idea. Where is Lindsay, she's great at this stuff!

Post another pic if you change it!

I wouldn't put the theater in the bottom corner, I would put the theater name under the time in the main body, and the address can be put in a separate insert if at all. For example, with traditional invites, you put the name and the town, but not the street address. Since the town is in the name, I would make it more prominent, and leave the reception info where you have it.

Good idea, Heather!

it's a great idea, but needs some fine tuning so it doesn't look like a STD.

Very creative!

I absolutely love this idea I agree with the other ladies a bit of fine tuning maybe the theatre name in the body. Very original!
