Invitation situation

Ok, so this is the last one for today.....I promise! Fh and I are going to look and hopefully order our invitations today! I have been reading just about every invitation post on here.

1-What is the name of the favor/invitation place on Middle Country Road in Selden?

2- I've seen posts about a 'response date'- I haven't gotten invitations with a response date, is it optional or standard? If so what is the ideal date?

3-We wanted to send them out earlier than the 8 weeks.....would the begining of May be too early?

4-We are paying for everything on our own. We liked the traditional wording with the bride's parents names first....but we know that it generally is worded by who is paying. Any wording suggestions?

I really want to let you all know that I don't know what I would to with out you! You always seem to help me out! Thanks ladies!!

You should put a response date or else people will take forever trust me and you wont have your rsvps in by the time you need to give a headcount to your RH. The ideal date is a month from the time of the event...it gives time for a few late ones and this way you'll have your rsvps before the time you give the headcount to RH.

May for july i think is fine, not too early

I think its actually a nice idea to put your parents regardless of who is paying...i mean they raised us, paid for god knows how many things and supported us for so long, to turn around and not even give them recognition bc they didnt pay for one thing for me personally is wrong. They've done more than enough throughout the years...Unless this isn't the deal with some parents then that is different.

Re: Invitation situation

We are paying for the wedding ourselves and this is how we worded ours...

Mr and Mrs Anthony
and
Mr and Mrs Randy
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their children

Marianne
and
Michael

Re: Invitation situation

the place in selden is called classic favors and invitations. their website is in my review. you should most definitely have a response date! as far as how far in advance, i forget...but if you do some searches you will find the average timing of that date and when to mail them. now for us, my inlaws gave us a nice chunk of $ toward the wedding and my mom couldnt afford to help out, but we didn't care about etiquette, we just wanted both sets of parents names on the invites. my name came first, followed by daughter of, and then his name, followed by son of. i can't remember the exact wording (though i have posted it before) but it looked great and flowed nice on the invite. happy shopping!

we are paying for the wedding, and we have our parents requesting guests to come to the wedding.

Re: Invitation situation

I looked around at so many invitations and spoke with so many people. I have 2 friends getting married one in april and one in July,(I'm Not until September) anyway My friend getting married in April spend $350.00 on Invitaitons. My other friend did her's herself, she bought them from walmart.
I did my own I bought them from AC moore with the 40% off coupon I paid about $14.00 a box of 50 invitations and 50 Response cards. It is a great way to save. Go to uprint.com and see the different styles. Attached a a sample of mine. This one is off centered (it was the first one I did) but the rest came out great.
