While overlooking my guest list to prepare for the calligraphy , I notice that I added the numbers wrong and I didnt order enough invites. I order 125 thinking I only needed 109 and now it turns out that I need 135. I am so upset, these invites have been my biggest headache. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Invitation stress
Hmm thats tough...where did you get them from? will they give you the additional you need at a discount since they are just making copies of a design they already made?

Re: Invitation stress
I am getting them from a vendor but the maker is Encore and they specifically told me that if I needed to order more at any point it will cost a fortune so sure the count is accurate. I am so mad at myself. Could I send families one invite? I know its tacky but what other choices do I have

I had the same problem. I ordered 100 invites thinking that FFIL wasn't going to put many people on his list. I really should have ordered 120. So I got a DIY kit for those that I doubt will be coming anyway. I was able to make them look pretty close to the originals.

I think you can send one invite to families. It sounds a little odd, but you must have guests that don't know each other, what about ordering something similar to your invites from another vendor?

Re: Invitation stress
I had this same problem and got DIY kit as well. I used these invites to send to family in Puerto Rico that 1. I'm sure isn't coming and 2. Will never see the 'real' invites. I know that sounds awful but I just couldn't afford to to a small run of my original invites.
(For those wondering, when you have invites run on a large printing press, like most companies do, it costs more to run 100 and then a few months later run 10 or 20 more than it does to run 120 initially. The presses have to be set up the same way whether you print 1 or 100. I never knew any of this until I worked for a high end printing company. I hope explained this properly! If anyone has any printing questions please feel free to FM me! I know that I was rather confused by most of the process until I worked in the industry!)

Re: Invitation stress
I sent one to families. . .they understood what it meant. I think they also realized how expensive/redundant it is to send individual invitations to three-four people in the same house, so that helped a great deal. If you can get away with it, then do that to help keep the number of invites accurate.

Re: Invitation stress
I got my kit from AC Moore. It wasn't exact but I added the ribbon bow to the top to help it look more like the printed ones.
Then I just used my PC and found a font very similiar to the font used on the originals. I was even able to feed the envelopes for the response cards through the printer to make them pre-printed to my parents address. The only major difference was that the kit didn't come with inner envelopes, only outter. Not a huge deal though.

Re: Invitation stress
I would just try to consolidate what you have as much as possible with the families. No one really cares if they get their own invitation, and you can make sure that all of their names are still on the invite. I'm doing that, just because it's way too expensive to make one for everyone and it's going to take me too much time (I'm doing my own). Plus, most people end up throwing them out anyway, so it's not worth the hassle!!

Re: Invitation stress
I have so many extras it's insane I wish you could just lend someone invites.
What are your options really? Just address one to the family I think. Call the company and see what a fortune is in dollar amounts.
