Invitation Vent!! I think this is my first vent. (LONG)

So I purchased my invitations through Have You Heard eventhough they were more money than other places because I really had full faith in the sales consutant. I decided to go with an Elite invitation after searching through a ton of books. They were above my budget but I said who cares. Anyway after three proofs, I still HATE them. I had to leave a 50% deposit and if I don't find another invite, I will lose my money which is over $600. I don't understand how the invitation company and the vendor I purchased them from could even show them to me when they looked like crap. They should be perfect!! I was told, everyone likes different things. Great. Not the response I want to hear when I am sooo disappointed. I could have made them myself and they would have looked better and I am far from a DIY. I sent my sales consultant and email telling her I was very unhappy and I would be in tomorrow evening to look for a new invite. If I can't find another invite from Elite, I may have to just walk away from the $600 which I think is INSANE!!! How can they charge that much money for a freakin proof?? Isn't it the card stock and actually printing that cost the bulk of the money. AARRGGHHH. This is my first disappointment with a vendor and hopefully it will be my last. Anyway, I hope both companies do the right thing and refund me the bulk of the money if I can't find something. To top it off, I am already late with ordering them and I leave this weekend to go to Hawaii for 2 weeks which means they will be even later. Thank god FH is so supportive. He told me if I am not satisfied with my meeting tomorrow, I should just forget about the money and go somewhere else. I will update you all tomorrow night. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

your proof is $600 or your deposit is $600?

What is wrong with your invite? is it not what the sample in the book looked like? is the layout not what you expected? i went through 3 sets of proofs for my invites (and redesigned them myself) but everyone was very accommodating and the proofs themselves were under $10

i'm sorry to hear that. i looked for invites there and even though i didn't order through them, i had a good experience. my friend also ordered her invites there and they came out ok. but if it isn't what you like then you shouldn't settle. i hope you can find something else you like!!!

if it makes you feel any better, I'm waiting for my 4th proof on a VERY simple invite from Carlson Craft.

don't know what's so difficult for these people, all I want is to have our names printed across the top of the front panel rather than the bottom...apparently they said they couldn't because the font was too large...well DUH, try it with a smaller font you id!ots!!!!!

I really like Ginny (sales consultant) and I am sure she will help me figure something out. Bluegreen08 calmed me down and gave me wonderful suggestion of just using a monogram instead of our names since mine is so long and his is so short. Hopefully I can make it work. Thanks for the hug. I needed it.

That would take some thought. If we were paying them to think, invites would be a lot more money.

i worked with an overseas vendor.. it took me about 5 months for them to get my invite right.. i was going nuts.. and it wasn't anything fancy.. just ordinary things they bypassed.. but they came out gorgeous though.. so don't worry.. you'll be fine..

Let me start by asking this-did you change anything about the one you saw in the book? If not then I hope you find something else

If you did-change it back. I changed nothing BUT the font I changed....i hated my invitation b/c they 'didnt look like htey did in the book' simple fact-you look at the sample in the book and you like it the way it is-now you change even the smallest thing and you may or may not like it.

sorry u r having problems...if i were u i would have fun on vacation and not worry about it then go in again with a fresh outlook
