Invitation vent - is this fair???

OK - so I ordered my invitations and PAID for a proof. The proof came in (faxed) and I wanted to make some changes in the wording. The woman I'm ordering from gets all huffy with me and tells me that every change I make is going to cost me extra money!!! Hello - isn't this why you get a proof in the first place??? It isn't like the company printed my invites yet, so what could possible cost money? Please tell me what you think about this.

That sounds very frustrating. Where did you order from?

It's BS!!!!! Sorry but if you're paying them for a service she has no right getting 'huffy' with you!!! Ask her what the point of sending a proof was anyway if you can't make changes. I wouldn't pay for changes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't want to post her name YET - at least until this is resolved. But honestly, I don't understand what the problem is. She says that Encore is charging for changes, not her. I just can't imagine how this is justified.

OK...as someone who works with printers all the time that is BS unless it's a final print proof. Any changes you make to the proof should be included unless the work has been laid out already on the actual printing machine. It sounds like you're still on the design phase and they're just trying to milk you for as much money as possible. It's just moving text around...come on!!!

How much are you 'saving' with this woman? You may want to look around. Who knows what other price changes may come around later on in the process!

Sounds like she's either taking you for a ride, or she's clueless as to what she's talking about.

That is complete BS! I def. agree with everyone else that she is not being completelyhonest.

That's ridiculous! When we go for makeup or hair trials, we don't have to pay for every time they try a different color or a different style. That's ludicrous!

Thank you! At least I don't feel like I'm going crazy! If I would have known that it was going to be set in stone, I would have been really certain of my wording. But she told me that I would see the proof, and THEN approve it for printing!

A proof is just that. It would cost them more if they sent you in invitation and it was wrong and had to redo it. I work where we imprint and if there are any mistakes or corrections it is free. The plates aren't made until it's perfect for the customer.

I dont see how they can charge you for changes, that is the point of a proof...I agree with all the other ladies.

I highly doubt Encore is charging for changes, our invitations and notecards were Encore, and we made a ton of changes through the printer we used, and we were not charged extra.

That is exactly why you get a proof, she is being unreasonable. She must just be lazy!

If you are going to have to pay for changes, tell her you want the money back for the proof. Makes no sense in getting a PROOF, if you have to pay for changes. Sounds like she is trying to pull a fast one on ya!!

I would cancel my order with her and go somewhere else where I would be treated alot better.
