Re: Invitation wedding proof **with pics**
I was going to agree on the font until I saw the 'finished' invite. I think it's very pretty and looks much more legible when actually written.

I'd have to agree with the other girls and say that the font is extremely hard to read. Also, I'd probably like to see some color in the invitation but that's just my personal preference.
It will be on ivory cardstock and with a rose in my bridesmaid dress color with a golden green stem as in this photo:
I like the font in this sample better. Not as curly as the other one.

I think you should change the font, it looks a bit cluttered
Unfortunately because it is handwritten calligraphy it's tough to change it. It's her style of calligraphy.

It's the same font, it's just that one is 4 years old

You know, I asked for it so I cannot be upset that you all give me the honest opinion. I guess this just solidifies what I already know - which is that my tastes are nearly 100% different to everyone on this board with the exception of two or three of you.

Love the calligraphy, is the whole invite hand calligraphy?
one thing I noticed is 'the year' 2008....I don't think writing out the words 'the year' is necessary.
Yes, it is all hand written calligraphy.
I think its nice! If it was a font, then I'd say choose something more simple, but hand written calligraphy tends to be more fancy.

i think its beautiful and people will be able to read it. Hand written calligraphy will always be more fancy than a computer font I think. If you love it then thats all that matters!

It's gorgeous, and I don't think hard to read at all. It's a very formal type and that's what you're going for so I think it's perfect.
I totally agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean. Sometimes it's tough posting things that aren't as mainstream as other things you see on here. If your feelings get hurt easily, don't post them.
But also remember that there ARE girls like you out there that might not post, but are looking for ideas similar to yours. I've gotten FMs asking me where I got certain things, etc.
Remember - if you like it, thats all that matters. Seriously. So cliche, but so true.

Thanks you have great taste so I am sure it is ok! Anyways, I appreciate the input from everyone. My dad couldn't read it anyway, but seriously, it's handwritten which is what I wanted and I think it's gorgeous so I am happy. It will be a stunner once the golden flowers are done on each piece.

Re: Invitation wedding proof **with pics**
I for one would we wowed receiving that invite simply because of the hand calligraphy. I think it's extremely elegant and I think your guests will be wowed as well. They're very classy. Hand calligraphy (especially on the entire invite) is one of those details that I always notice and definitely appreciate. It was very important to me to have it done for my envelopes for that reason.

I know we've talked about this before, and my taste is also different from 99% of this website. I agree that the font is a bit busy, but I LOVE it! We changed my invite from all script to script with print, but I think for hand calligraphy, all script can be very elegant.
Not sure how I feel about the roses, but it's what YOU love that is important. We've gotten loads of compliments on our invites, but I'm sure a lot of people think they are boring or plain.
The only change(s) I would consider making are: 'the year' while more formal sounds a little funny to me, probably because we're not used to seeing it. Also, I might change 'declines with regret' instead of 'declines with regretS'
We put 'regret' instead of 'regrets' and I'm pretty sure that is proper, but perhaps it can go either way.
Didn't spot any typos, but I couldnt give it a thorough read since I'm at work!
