Jill:
Lots of it has to do with your situation--who is hosting (your parent, his, both, or you guys) and everyone's status (deceased, alive, remarried) -- can you give more details so we can shoot back ideas.

sure.... thank you so much for responding!!!

OK well... my parents are pretty much paying for the wedding

FIL's are paying for the band

FI and I are paying for the transportation (i live like 3 miles from my reception hall and mom thought getting an ESCALADE was insane...hahahah!

I have seen many ways of wording it but now that i need to put it on paper i am lost!
any help is wonderful!

Are both sets of parents still married?
Do you want his parents on invite -- traditionally since yours are hoosting it would be them. I will get some examples -- give me 5.

Both sets of parents are funding the wedding:
Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Myers
and
Mr. and Mrs. Kwame Johnson
request the honor of your presence
at the marriage of their children
Anne Catherine and Theodore Joseph
etc.

If Bride's parents are hosting, but would like to include grooms parents on the invitation
Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Myers
request the honor of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Anne Catherine
to Theodore Joseph Johnson
son of Mr. and Mrs. Kwame Johnson
etc.

Also-- instead of listing all the parents name at the top.. you can have:

Your company is requested blah blah

at the marriage of our children

Jane Susan

to

Jon David

date, time, etc.

Brides Parents
Grooms Parents

This is how I did mine-- but, my parents are divorced, my mom is remarried, also everyone is chipping in a bit..
