We are finally starting to look at invitations... My parents are giving us probably about half of what our wedding will cost... My question is, how shoudl we word the invite? Mr and Mrs. X request the honor of your presence... or Together with our parents....? They are helping us out a lot so I feel like they deserve recognition but at the same time I dont want FH's family to be upset (even though they are only paying for the RD)... Any opinions would be appreciated, as always!!

Re: Invitation wording
I would say together with our parents or if you'd like to, you can just say Mr. and Mrs. X request the honor.....

Re: Invitation wording
Well, if you want his parents on the invite, you can always say:
Mr. and Mrs. GoingNutty's Parents request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their daughter GoingNutty to GoingNutty's FH son of Mr. and Mrs. GoingNutty's FH's parents
Of course, this will only look ok if you keep GoingNutty throughout. It makes it flow.

Re: Invitation wording
you know this was such a debate, and even though rays parents aren't paying for the reception or the ceremony at all (they are paying for the hm and most of the RD though) we decided to put both parents because they're both kinda giving us away

But yeah, FMIL and FFIL are paying for a small portion of the wedding (very small) so we just put them as parents of FH, like above.
I agree 100% with keeping GoingNutty in the invite though

Re: Invitation wording
We're in the same exact situation. I decided we'll do it this way:
Mr. and Mrs. X request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their daughter Lillian Mary X to David John X son of Mr. and Mrs. X on Friday the 29th of July, 2005 St. Joseph's Church blah blah blah
That way his parents are mentioned but my parents are doing the inviting.

Re: Invitation wording
Since we planned on paying for it ourselves, but our parents gave us very generous gifts, we said:
Nicole XXXX XXXX and Joseph XXXX XXXXX Together with their parents, Request the honor of your presence....
We didn't even put their names down on the invite, but you can list them both after the 'Together with their parents.'

Re: Invitation wording
I agree with putting your parents name first and then writing son of Mr. and Mrs....
