Invitation Wording

Invitation Wording

FH & I are paying for the wedding. Both fathers are deceased. My mother would like the invitation to read:

Mrs. Mary Smith invites you to the marriage of her daughter

Darlene Mary to

John Joseph Jones

son of Mrs. Ann Jones

or something similar.

I don't like the repeat of the names - as in my middle name and mom's name are the same. And since we are paying, and the invite is normally indicates who the host is, I don't really want it so say Mrs. Mary Smith invites you blah blah.

However, wording the invite as

Darlene Mary Smith
and
John Joseph Jones
together with their parents invite you blah blah
doesn't really seem right to me either, since both fathers are no longer with us.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to how we can word this to keep everybody happy????

Not sure how good this is, but how do you feel about:

Darlene Mary Smith
and
John Joseph Jones
together with their mothers invite you blah blah

I like that too....or was your mom still married to your dad when he past?? If so, you can put: Mrs. John Smith invites you to......

No, she wasn't, but even if she was, then I would have to match HIS mom, and I wind up with the double names again - only worse since he is a junior!!

As for the 'together with their mothers' - I'm not crazy about it either. Further complicating my dilemna. I wish I could just leave out both mothers, but mine would have a complete and total fit, and that is not a battle I really want to engage in.
