Invitation Wording

FH and I are paying for the wedding but we are going to include our parents name on the invitations. My mother passed away - should her name also be included? How would that be worded?

Is there a website that I can go to to see the wording options? I am going to order the invuitations today afterwork because I am so behind schedule....AAHHYYY!!!!

TIA!!!!

the knot website also gives advice on this.

i think it would be nice to include your mothers name. something like:

Mr. John Doe and the late Mrs. John Doe request the honor of your presence...

My father passed away and I wanted to put his name on the invitation, like i wrote above, but people talked me out of it saying it might be weird for some people to see, not that i should care about others. in the end I wound up putting:
Mrs. John Doe requests...

so that my dad's name was on it, but they knew it was from my mother also. HTH!

Well if they aren't paying for any of it, you would put your parents names after yours, yours would be first line and 'daughter of....' would be second. Traditionally at least

My cousin's father passed away several years ago and on her invitations it said

'Susan G and the Late Joseph G have the pleasure if inviting you to their daughter's wedding etc. etc.'

Re: Invitation Wording

there are lots of options that u can research online...some things depend on how formal/casual, full mass vs. ceremony etc.

here is our situation - we are paying for a majority of the wedding (minus our parents guests)...my parents are divorced, fh's father passed away...we are having a full mass and wanted formal wording...this is what we did

The honour of your presence
is requested
at the wedding mass uniting (traditionally its nuptial mass)
my full name
daughter of Mrs. Jane Doe
Mr. Jerry Smith
and
Fh's full name
son of Mrs. Mary and the beloved Mr. James Johnson
in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony

Date, day and Month
Year
time

Church
City, State
