invitation wording

is anyone doing anything unique or non-traditional for their invitation wording?
the idea of writing 'request the honor of your presence at the marriage of...' seems a little over the top to me....
but my parents are paying and they would like to be included.
does anyone have any ideas for me...maybe from invitations they've gotten??
