Invitation wording advice...

Good Morning ladies! Hope you're all doing well...

Can anyone offer me any advice... I need my invitation have my parents name on it but not my FHs (at his request)...But we're hosting the wedding....

Ideas? Everything I've come up with seems to sound odd!

Thanks in advance!

Re: Invitation wording advice...

How about something like:

Jane Smith (Brides Name)

and

Robert Jones (Grooms Name)

together with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith
request the honour of your presence
as they join together in marriage
on etc., etc., etc..

That's what I wanted to do at first but FH thought that sounded like my parents were hosting (i don't think it's a big deal... but we're paying for EVERYTHING and I guess it bothers FH a little...)

THanks.. I'm going to show him your post :O)

How about

The honour of your presence is requested at the marriage of Monica Gellar
daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jack Geller
and Chandler Bing
Saturday, the fourteenth of February
two thousand and nine
at two o'clock in the afternoon
at Central Perk

etc etc. etc

That sounds great,..

Next question...
When you read that...does it make you ask why we don't have FH's parent's names on it? (they're estranged and he's very sensitve about it and afraid someone is going to ask where they are on the day of the wedding!!

I wish I could save the world and make this easy for him.

to me, with only one set of parents on it may imply that your parents are paying for the wedding IMHO. FH and I are paying for our wedding ourselves but we are including our parents names on the invite so they wont feel bad.... you do want you want- who can tell you how to word your invitations
