Re: Invitation wording EMERGENCY
I think you need to go by who is paying for the wedding. My mom gave us money, but not totalling more than half of the cost of our wedding, so I didn't put her name on the invites.
If you want to, you can say:
' Jane Smith, daughter of Mary Smith, and Bob Jones, son of Lucy & Harry Jones, request your presence at.... etc. etc.'
Otherwise it will look like your mom is footing the bill, IMO.
ETA: If you have the same name, you could say 'Miss Jane Smith, daughter of Mrs. Jane Smith...' ??

Yes, I would would it exactly like you have and put Ms. for each and just put you Mom's middle initial and then you middle name (or if you don't like it just put your initial also). his mom's name doesnt need a middle initial. And the way it is worded doesnt sound snobby or whatever that his mom didnt give any $ bu slightly and politly gives people a clue that your mom did
hopethat helps!

Re: Invitation wording EMERGENCY
I would ask them each about the whole MS/MRS thing. Some go by one, some the other. It's a personal choice more than what's appropriate in my opinion. I don't think middle names are necessary. Maybe a middle initial.

Re: Invitation wording EMERGENCY
We decided to acknowledge our parent's without using their names -
We did this:
Because you have shared in our lives by your friendship and love, we
Jennifer and Eric
Together with our parents Invite you to share the beginning of our new life together when we exchange marriage vows on ....
Maybe that will please everyone.

Re: Invitation wording EMERGENCY
I used a quote in the beginning of my invitation but here it is what I used but I changed it to fit your situation. If you and your mom share the same last name you don't have to put your last name.
Their marriage will be nurtured by the courage of their ancestors the strength of their faith and the love of their families.....
Ms. Jane Sally Doe request the honour of your presence at the marriage of her daughter
Jane Sally (I used my first name and middle name, no last name)
to
Your fiance full name
son of
Ms. fiance mom's name
on Saturday, the twentieth of September Two thousand and three at quarter past eleven in the morning
XXX Church Town, New York
Also try verseit.com, it was a great help for me. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Re: Invitation wording EMERGENCY
As for Ms/Mrs, you don't HAVE to put either. On our invites, we had:
John and Mary Smith invite you to share in the joy of uniting their daughter Roxanne to Billy Bob Jimmy....
(made the names up, in case you were wondering)

You should always put all parents' names, whether they're paying or not. I think its kind of mean otherwise.

Re: Invitation wording EMERGENCY
we put both set of parents names (mine first) even though only my parents ar giving us money toward the wedding. i just felt it was nicer that way and really highlights the part they played in our lives. as for the Ms. Miss, Mrs. thing - I'd suggest asing them what they prefer - so as not to offend them. And if you and your mom have the same name - that might be a good way to differentiate you from her. or a middle name might do the same. good luck! don't panic!
