Invitation Wording for Separated/Divorced Parents...
My parents are separated, but living in the same house (Dad's downstairs and Mom's upstairs). There is no hope for reconciliation and I'm hoping someone will move out soon. That's their situation in a nutshell.
Anyway, I guess this is easy because my mom never actually took my Dad's last name (ultra feminist), so I'm wondering who else is getting married with divorced parents... how are you wording your invitations? I am worried that FH will want to treat the wording as if my parents are married and Mom took Dads last name, but my Mom will get sooo mad about that...

there should be an 'and' in between their names
such as
Mr. John Doe and Mrs. Jane Doe
instead of
Mr. & Mrs. John Doe.
If your mom never took ur dad's last name it works fine too.
Mr. John Doe & Mrs. Jane Smith

What about just doing 'The Parents Of....'
That's what I might be doing because my parents are divorced, but FH's are not, but they are all paying for the wedding.

this is what i want to do....but im not sure how it will fly....for my sister's wedding my mom made her write all her names so she would get recognition since she was paying for a lot of it.....they had 3 sets of names (both my parents are remarried and then her dh's parents)...
since my wedding is a lot more $$$ than my sisters, fh and i are paying for a lot of it...so i really wanna put Together with our Parents to avoid having to worry about writing out the names!

FH's parents are divorced (and his mom has gone back to using her maiden name), mine are still married (and mine are paying) so we will word like this:
Mr. and Mrs. John Doe invite you to... blahblah.. their daughter
ME to FH
Son of Dr. Jim Johnson and Ms. Sue Smith..

FH parents are divorced and they are both with someone else therefore I am putting no parent names on the invite

my parents or also separated. and the way i worded there names was my dad dennis deluca & my mom linda deluca.
