Invitation Wording Help! - 1st Person or 3rd Person
Which do you think sounds better?
Choice A: C and F INVITE YOU TO SHARE THE BEGINNING OF OUR NEW LIFE TOGETHER AS WE EXCHANGE MARRIAGE VOWS
Choice B: C and F INVITE YOU TO SHARE THE BEGINNING OF THEIR NEW LIVES TOGETHER AS THEY EXCHANGE MARRIAGE VOWS

I have been wondering the same thing! I think I like the 3rd person better. It sounds more formal - if you are going for that vibe??

I found this on about.com
When the bride and groom are paying for the wedding themselves, the wording should read: EITHER You are cordially invited to celebrate the wedding of Anne Catherine Myers and Theodore Joseph Johnson etc.
OR
Together with their parents, Anne Catherine Myers and Theodore Joseph Johnson request the honor of your presence etc.

This may help, Who's paying for your wedding?
If you and FH are then I would use the 1st person, but if your/his parents are then I would go with the 3rd person.

Everyone is helping pay for the wedding. FH's parents are paying for the reception. We are not putting our parents' names on the invitation. FH's parents are divorced and we feel there will be too much wording if we include everyone.

If you have a lot of 'step' and extended fam issues, then maybe the 'Together with their families, Dara Doe and John Johnson request the honor of your presence... ' may be your best option

I believe it should be third person, because your names are written out, rather than being called 'We'
Mary Jones and John Smith invite you to share the beginning of their new lives......
I agree with the 'together with their families' suggestion... (it's actually what we have too...)

Its the 2nd one. The first one doesnt make sense, even though you are sending the invite when you say C and F are inviting you then you have to use the third person form.
