Invitation Wording - HELP!!! PLEASE
FH and I were planning to have a small ceremony with friends and family with a larger reception later that night.
How do you word it without offending people? Our ceremony spot is 2 hours from our reception location.
I want the large invitation to only mention reception. (A reverse of the normal invitation)
I'd like to put an insert card inside with ceremony information and wedding details. I want to give people the option of attending, but informing them that I will not be insulted if they can't come. I want it to almost seem as though we are eloping and it's no big deal.
This is such an issue because are ceremony location is going to cost us an extra 50 per person. We planned on 30. After sending out our save the dates, many people keep telling us that they want to go to Jersey. We are not prepared for this extra expense. We already contacted the catering department for a cheaper breakfast menu for after the ceremony in case extra people attend. It's not definite, but we may be able to change it.
