My situation was so similar. My parents have been happily married for 29 years but Mom kept her maiden name and both of my parents felt strongly that the invite not say MR & MRS. Interesting the things that come up...

that's so funny - I ordered mine yesterday!
(ordered them really early cause I needed save the dates - and am the least crafty person in the world - so I just ordered invites and save the dates in one fell swoop)
had a longer than expected conversation with my mom regarding invite wording. She's Ms. O'Leary- she's very happily married to my dad for over 30 years but she's never used Mrs. in her life - and I didnt want to put
Mr. and Mrs. Paul O'Leary requests. . .
cause I dont ever refer to a married woman as Mrs. Husband's name.
so I went with:
Mr. and Ms. Paul and Patricia O'Leary
NICE! Deirdre.
requests the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Deirdre Jean O'Leary
to
Mr. Neil Edward Cunningham
on Saturday, the third of December
