Invitation wording question??

My parents are paying for 1/2 of our wedding and we are paying for the other 1/2. Do I still write my parents name on the invite as having the party??

Up to you.

I would. My parents and his parents are paying a third each and we;re putting both sets of parents down as hosting

Re: Invitation wording question??

We paid for 95% of our wedding and my parents paid the 5%. For our invites we put our names and then together with our parents. Even though my In-laws didn't pay for anything we put them just to be nice ( I felt bad not to)

His mom is not paying anything. For no reason other then his siblings feel that she should not give us anything.
This is fine its her choice.
But do you think its rude if I put my parents name and not hers??

My parents are paying some, my in-laws are paying some and we are paying some.

My in-laws for some reason like to think that they are paying for MOST of the wedding-- but the only reason they are paying more than my parents is b/c they are having 200 guests and my parents are having about 70-80. So in the beginning they said they would pay for their guests and FIL's would pay for theirs... and then me and FH would cover the vendors...

So they were fine with that knowing they have so many more guests and now every time we talk about invites they want to be considered like THEY are throwing the party-- i mean, if they had a normal amount of guests it would be even. It's SUCH a weird situation and so annoying.

So what I want and have always wanted and would do even if FIL's were paying 0 was put their name on the invite... I just think it's the right thing to do. And I love the traditional wording.

So it will say my parents name 'request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their daughter, danielle patrice to
Mr. Vincent Rella Jr.
Son of Mr and Mrs Vincent Rella

and then the rest, i love how it's traditional, i love the wording, i love the way it flows-- but FIL's wanted to be at the top with my parents but I just didn't like the way it looks and for me, if their name was going on it at all, I thought that showed that they were paying... but what can I do? I can't convince them, I'm doing it the way I want to. I mean, Vinny and I are paying so much also but you don't hear us whining about how we want everyone to know what we put in. Also, I didn't like putting both parents names b/c then it would have to say 'at the marriage of their CHILDREN' and for some reason, i just don't like the idea of being called a child-- i'm so weird LOL

but that's how i'm doing it-- and over my dead body will FIL's change it b/c they decided to invite half the world to the wedding!!!!

i dont think its rude-- but her feelings might be hurt. my sister's FMIL has another son besides my FBIL and he is already married and she didn't pay anything besides the RD-- so the bride went to pick out invites and just put her parents name on it-- now my sister's FMIL never said a word but it hurt her feelings and when the groom's brother (my FBIL) saw it he said, that must be hurting mom but she is not the type to say anything, you should change it-- and then groom had his wife change it and FMIL thanked her so much.

HOPE THAT STORY MAKES SENSE LOL

so she might be sad about that-- but it's up to you, you are not obligated to put her name on it if she is not paying-- you are not obligated either way, it's your choice.

yes, absolutely..... i would

FH and I are paying for our wedding completely on our own and we are having my parents and his father's name (his mom is passed) on the invitiation. I don't care who pays for it... they are our parents, they raised us, they should be on the invitiation.... JMO

Re: Invitation wording question??

Since it is half and half, I would write something like 'Please attend the wedding of _____, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.______ to FH, son of Mr. and Mrs. _____ (Not that exact wording) If you did Mr. and Mrs. request the presence, that usually indicates who is paying so I am doing it this way too.
