Invitation Wording Question

Invitation Wording Question

How do you word your invitations if the bride and groom are paying for a large bulk of the wedding but the brides parents were going pay for lets say the photographer and grooms the flowers or something like that??

We're def footing the bill on this but they are giving something towards it.

Should I address it as our parents together with us...or just keep it as the couple inviting???

TIA

Re: Invitation Wording Question

I'm in the same boat as you are. We're paying 99% of the wedding. My mom is paying for flowers, my dress, and invitations. His parents aren't paying for anything.

As of right now, we are doing 'together with their parents....'

You would say your names first, along with your parents would like to invite you....

good luck :o)

Re: Invitation Wording Question

I know traditionally the wording has to do with who's paying, but it's not necessary for it. You can word it how you are comfortable, either with 'together with their parents' or your names first. Whatever is most asthetically pleasing to you.

We didn't want to put all our parents' names on because it would start to look like a laundry list with all the step-parents. I wouldn't worry about what people who are reading the invitation know about who's paying and just do whatever feels best to you, whether it's to list everyones' names or just your own.

we are paying for our wedding and our parents have helped some and out of respect for our parents, we are wording the invitation... Together with their parents.

Re: Invitation Wording Question

One word of caution...before you order invitations, get 'sign off' by all parties involved. Groom, parents, step-parents, former step-parents...whoever. We just had to reprint our invitations because some people had a change of heart about what was printed. I don't want to get into specifics, but it's now costing us an additional $300...

Re: Invitation Wording Question

We are paying for the majority of our wedding but my parents are payin for the photographer and the DJ and FHs parents are paying for the Bus so I just went with traditional wording:

Mr. and Mrs. A request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Samantha
to
Vernon Duffy Godin
son of Mr. and Mrs.Reginald Godin

It made everyone happy!

We are also paying for the majority of the wedding, but didn't do anything specific - just:

the honor of your presence is requested to the
marriage of
Brides Name
to
Grooms Name

We did 'Together with our families' even though we are paying for the entire thing ourselves. LOL

Same here.

'together with their parents'
I don't want anyone to be feel offended.

Re: Invitation Wording Question

We are paying, with the parent chipping in an its bits portion.

We all decided that its us hosting the wedding. No parents on our invitations.

Do what YOU want.
