It's incorrect to use 'and' when saying or writing numbers. Believe me, I was corrected as a student teacher

Just think about it this way when you say the number '55' You wouldn't say, 'fifty and five', you say,' fifty five'

Actually I just looked at a few sample wedding invites and they all say 'two thousand AND eleven'...I would have thought the opposite, but I guess that is the way to do it :)

there shouldnt be an 'and' unless there is a decimal point. such as 20 dollars and 11 cents

Re: Invitation wording - 'two thousand eleven' or 'two thousand and eleven'
'she' made my proof showing two thousand and eleven...when i showed my mother she was adamant it was changed to two thousand eleven. She is a math teacher (for lack of better description) and said mathematically there is no and. IMO i didnt care one way or another but she feels so strongly the 'and' doesnt belong so I am having 'her' remove it.

Re: Invitation wording - 'two thousand eleven' or 'two thousand and eleven'
Among experts and the general public, there is a debate as to how specific years of the 21st century should be pronounced in English. The year 2010 is pronounced either 'twenty ten' or 'two thousand (and) ten'.[1]
