1. I always remember that the bride and grooms last name were not on the invitation, rather just their first and middle names. Does this still hold true? We would be doing 'couple hosting' wording.
2. As for response cards, love the elegant script writing but it looks like too much on the reception card but then looking at regular print is too plain and I cant find a good way to mix it up like on the invitation where you could do names in script, etc.
3. Can you girls also share how you worded your reception card?
Thanks so much!
With regards to wording, I know there a lots of websites and information on different ways...just want to see what you girls have done

Re: What does your reception card say?
I am currently sitting here trying to word my invites... I'm glad I found this post. My CH starts at 6:30 and my reception starts at 8. I am going to put both times since my CH is 90 mins and not the usual 'hour'

I changed the question a little so maybe the responses will help you too. Yeah, that makes sense what you're doing- you're on the right track

Re: Invitation/Response card
we didnt have our last names next to our names, the last names were just used for our parents names.
As far as font, well for the reception card the font was different for the word RECEPTION than the rest of the wording. That word had more of a fancy font while the rest was a bit more plain

Re: Invitation/Response card
1. No this still does not hold true. Just about every tradition when it comes to invites has kinda been thrown out the window. I put our first and last names as well as my parents and his just because I LOVED how much better the invitation flowed. It just didnt sound right with just our middle names. AND usually the whole middle name but not the last name on the invite is only when you put the parents name first... My invitation designer has her portfolio online so I went through literally EVERY SINGLE ONE of them till I found what I wanted... I would suggest doing something like that. =))
2. Look on dafont.com for downloadable fonts. Also go to invitation designer's website to see fonts and get ideas. There is a REALLY gorgeous font that isnt script but isnt just plain boring text and its REALLY nice. Its VERY modern. Go to Dafont, its called Scriptina. Its like script but not. VERY nice and on there you can get ideas...
3. I think mine says join the celebration with 'insert our first names' at 'insert name of place' with a small pic and address of place...
Thanks so much!

Re: Invitation/Response card
I took some of the script from my invite and some of the print. I didn't do the whole invite in script because I like it clean and easy to read. I also wanted to keep it formal so I didn't go with a casual script.
1. That tradition isn't held up much anymore, unless both parents names are on the invitation. Its very 'traditional' and most people want to be creative / different these days. 2. There are many fonts that are easy to read, but have elegant flair. Here are some we've used in past invites... BernhardFashion Bradley Hand ITC Harlow Solid Italic Lucida Calligraphy or Handwriting Magneto Monotype Corsiva Papyrus Parchment - need a larger size with this font Vivaldi
3. Haven't got to this step yet.
Hope this helps!

Re: Invitation/Response card
We didn't do a reception card, but with regards to last names on the invitation, we put our first, middle, and last names. We didn't include our parents names since we are fully hosting the wedding ourselves (and we honestly never though about putting them and they never made a peep about it!)
