I'm not planning on doing that. Although I can see where it might make your life easier considering peoples eligible handwriting, etc.

Re: invitations

We put 'number of people ___' on the reponse cards because there are times when not all of the people listed on the invitation will attend. In fact, there was one invitation I sent out to a family of 5 - two adults and 3 teenagers. Only one of the kids are coming, so they wrote '3' on the reply card. It's good to have that blank space so you don't assume everyone is coming, because not everyone thinks to write all the names out on the response card. Furthermore, it is not proper etiquette for your guests to invite more people than are listed on the inner envelope. If you are inviting a family on one invitation, never write Mr. & Mrs. so-and-so and family on the inner envelope. You need to write the childrens first names underneath the Mr. & Mrs. to avoid any confusion as to who is actually invited.

Yea, we're not doing that either but I can see why you would want to.
