Do you guys think that it is better to order invitations through an actual person at a store or on the internet? I'm not sure if it is worth it to pay the extra money. The internet prices are much lower... but I just don't want them to come out wrong. What did everyone do for theirs?

My Best friend ordered hers throigh the internet and she loved them. I also ordered invitations for a friend's bridal shower over the net and they were ADORABLE! don't be afraid! Kitty

Re: Invitations
I have a friend who ordered from Invitations by Dawn and was happy with her experience. I've ordered samples from them.
I'm thinking of ordering from Party City, they give 30% off the order and the prices come in similar to what they would be from what I've seen on the Internet.

Re: Invitations
I went though a person who works from her home- she give you the books to borrow...it's OK to order from the internet but try to seem them in person first- it makes a difference!!

Re: Invitations
I did order mine from www.bellainvites.com and they were absolutely perfect. Whatever company you choose to order from they should send you a rough draft of the invites for you to make corrections before the final part.

Re: Invitations
you know, I would have originally said it is best to do it in person...but we did it through Kate's Paperie in the city and their proofing process is sooo bad that we might as well just done it online. They literally faxed me a black and white version of our invitation....I had no way of seeing how the different colors would turn out or how the actual assembled invitation would look like until we ordered them.
Well, we loved the colors but there were some things (spacing) that didn't look that great, and we paid A LOT for them.
So, go with your instincts...I bet that you could get some really nice ones online!

Re: Invitations
I intend to order my invites on line. I ordered a bucnh of samples on line before settling on the one that I want. Most companies will send you samples for free, or a very small fee. Take advantage of that so that you can see how the invitation will look.

They can come out wrong either way. Go with the cheaper option
I think the internet has less of a chance of coming out wrong since it's presumably automated based on what the customer types in. There is no messy hand writing to decipher and nobody giving verbal orders to be interpreted incorrectly.

Re: Invitations
We ordered ours at Invitations and Beyond (Vendor on here) and they were great so far!. I went right to her store in oceanside on long beach road. I got 25% off and the girl who helped me was so patient and helpful and not pushy! We ordered C'est Papier and they had a great selection.

Re: Invitations
INTERNET!!
If you're uneasy about it, go to a store and look around - you can do this both ways. I looked at a bunch of sites and started to round down to what I liked, but I had a few questions. I went to a local store with the make/item numbers and looked at them in person, asked the questions and noted that the prices were nearly DOUBLE. Then went back and ordered online. I used Uptown Downtown Shopping - they had a very good ordering process and you they will send you proofs if you want. You can also just as easily start off in the stores, get the name and item number of the ones you like, then find them online -
I saved a ton of $$ and got my invitations in about 10 days!
