I think it's frowned upon but now with computer calligraphy, you have the other option!

Re: invitations
I'm planning on printing the addresses directly onto the envelopes with my printer.

Re: invitations
it is tacky...but people will quickly get over it...only risk is that some names and addresses might not fit on the labels.

Re: invitations
Actually a friend of mine is getting married October of this year and I just received her invitations ~ he sent it on a clear label and looked nice...

Re: invitations
It will probably look better if you print directly on the enveloppes. Most people will trash the enveloppe anyway.

I am doing the same thing. I just put the labels on my outer envelopes last night, and it doesn't look bad. I will hand address my inner envelopes, but I used the clear labels for the outer envelopes

Thats probably what FH and me are doing. Most people throw out the envelope anyway!

Re: invitations
I would print it directly on the invitation. It may take a little time but I think the look is worth it. I am not a fan of the labels on formal invites

This is what we did! Well, I should say, FH set it up. I just manually put the envelopes through the printer.

Re: invitations
Im having calligraphy done on my envelopes, but honestly I couldn't care less if they were written, printed or had labels on them. I dont think I have once received a wedding invitation and cared how the envelope looked.

Re: invitations
We've gotten the labels on cousin's weddings and we considered it but went with the printed route.
We figured the setup beforehand isn't that difficult and the printing would take just a few extra minutes.
