How much did you pay for your invitations? Is it worth doing them yourself if you get the stationary. Trying to cut corners. What do you guys think.

MIne cost a little under $500...
The invitation is kind of like a first impression for your wedding.. I can't imagine making themselves

Re: Invitations
I did mine and they came out amazing. So I really thinks it's how creative and crafty you are. I use to be a Graphic Designer so I have alot of the experience in the area.
I ended up saving about $250.
I also wanted very high end invitative so if you are looking for something simple I'd say get them done b/c you probablly won't save much, but if you are looking for something that is more high end with ribbons and such do them yourself.

Re: Invitations
We did them ourselves, and I think it was totally worth it. They looked great - just what we wanted, and we got lots of compliments on them. We spent about $350 on them (we made about 110 invitations), so I think we saved a lot, although I didn't get prices for having them done for us. Assembly was easy - we invited over five friends who were amazing and got it done in four hours. (And one of those hours we were mainly waiting for glue to dry...)
If you have the patience to design your own - picking fonts, doing your own proofing, running them through your printer, getting all the materials - it's totally worth it.

Re: Invitations
We bought our invitations for about $800. However, if you are crafty and patient, I would say go for it. We made all our invitations for our Rehearsal, Next Day Brunch, and menus and programs and they came out great. There are several brides on here who have made incredible paper art projects.

I've heard a lot about here. Is there any where I can see some samples. Does she have a website? How expensive is she?

Re: Invitations
We're doing a mixture of both. We're buying our pocketfolds and doing the rest ourselves :)
www.cardsandpockets.com is a great site for pocketfolds.
www.absoluteinvites.com has all of their products 30% off. That includes invites and everything else on the site.
www.papersource.com is a great place to get stationary
www.envelopemall.com is a good place for your envelopes too.
Good luck though! Just remember that it may save you a lot of money in the end, but it can be very time consuming! :)))))

Re: Invitations
i think the price really depends on how many invitation you want and what kind, i knew a friend who paid $8 per invite and she got 150 invitations done thats just $1200 for just invites and some just spend 500$ that were pretty and did the job...its all on u

Re: Invitations
Mine were $250 for 125 invitations, but we knew someone. Definitely not worth doing yourself. I heard about how many problems my mom and her friend had doing my shower invitations and how many invitations got ruined or smudged in the printer.

Re: Invitations
It depends on what you are looking for and how patient you are. It's easier just to order the less expensive ones than doing them yourself. I ordered Birchcraft ones from Party City and they ended up costing me $500 for 250 invitations and the extra envelopes I had to order since my printer screwed some up.

Re: Invitations
Use Joan from JBInk.com. I picked out Encore Invites and was quoted $1200, she got me the same exact ones for $500 and she is SO sweet!

We used her too, also for Encore invitations! She also made lots of great recommendations.
