invitations

i am trying to get an idea of what kind of invites people are using. i just got mine and it is a long rectangular card. 3 layers...with ribbon around edge. fancy writing. i showed my mom and she asked where the inside envelope is...?...apparently the kind of invite I picked doesn't have one...is that a big deal? what are yours like?

Re: invitations

My invites are sort of customized from www.gaddisdesign.com - they are a red z fold card with the invitation text in italian and in english.

We are having an inner envelope becuase I need to specifically write out who is invited (to make sure children and other undesireables don't show).

I really don't think not having an inner envelope is a big deal unless you want to use it to state out who is exactly invited...i.e. you address the invite to Mr & Mrs. JOhn Smith and then on the invite you want to specify the children too so you say 'john, jane, peter, paul and mary.' Your invitations sound beautiful. if you are really stressing out though why not go to Kate's Paperie or a Papyrus store and see if you could get just envelopes? The place where you got your invites originally might even have matching ones which you could buy seperately. Either way, i think they sound lovely.

Ours doesn't have an inner envelope either. I don't think its a huge deal... most people just throw the envelopes away anyway! Go with the invitation that makes you happy!

Good luck.....

Re: invitations

Mine will have an inner envelope. I actually changed my original invite because it didn't have one. I need to specific who is invited and I do have some children coming so I need to write their names on the inner envelope.
Some invites look better without one though. It all depends.

Re: invitations

My invites are a square card (which costs more in postage). They are ivory with a white bow. They wanted to charge me something like 90 cents a bow so I made my own. They came out really nice. But anyway, they did come with an inner envelope. I don't think it matters if your didn't. I truly doubt anyone will open up you invitation and go 'Wow, what a nice invitation but wheres the inner envelope.' Don't sweat the small stuff.
